SHIELDED METAL ARC WELDING 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G (SMAW) – Entry Level Carbon Steel – Plate

Enable the participants to the welding trade and to achieve basic skills through practice in Shielded Metal Arc Welding. We ensure sufficient practical and theoretical exposure to SMAW.

 Course Duration  : 10 Weeks
 Start Date  : Open Jan-Dec
 Course Objective :

To be able to produce quality multi-pass fillet and groove welds in all positions using E6010, E6011 and E7018 electrodes

SHIELDED METAL ARC WELDING (SMAW) – Advance Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel (Pipe)

Upon completion of this course, the trainee should have developed expertise in manipulative skills and technical understanding related to Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)..

 Course Duration  : 6 Weeks
 Start Date  : Open Jan-Dec
 Course Objective  :

To produce quality multi-pass fillet welds and groove welds, all positions, on carbon steel or stainless steel plate using stainless steel electrodes. In addition, to produce fillet welds, all positions, and 2G, 5G and 6G groove welds on carbon steel pipe using E6010 and E7018 electrodes.

Prerequisites  : The student must have successfully passed the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) entry level course.

GAS SHIELDED TUNGSTEN ARC WELDING (GTAW) Carbon Steel , Aluminum (Plate & Pipe)

Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to perform production and maintenance welding on mild steel including high volume fabrication, automotive assembly and repair..

 Course Duration  : 4 Weeks
 Start Date  : Open Jan-Dec
 Course Objective  :

To produce quality multi-pass fillet welds and groove welds on carbon steel plate in all positions, using short circuiting transfer. This course is planned to meet the exacting demands of pulsed TIG welding and conventional welding through a methodical and ordered approach. Quality is determined through visual inspection and mechanical testing according to AWS requirements.

Prerequisites  : Ideal for candidates conversant with Arc Welding.
 Course content:

Familiarization with GMAW process, equipment and accessories, safety precautions, welding variables, selection of tungsten electrodes and shielding gases, welding techniques, handling of equipments, advantages of pulsed TIG welding.

GAS SHIELDED METAL ARC WELDING (GMAW) Carbon Steel, Aluminum (Plate & Pipe)

Upon completion of this course, the trainee should be able to perform structural welding, production welding on light, medium and heavy assemblies, as well as to perform service and transmission pipeline related work.

 Course Duration  : 2 Weeks
 Start Date  : Open Jan-Dec
 Course Objective  :

To be able to acquire the basic skills / practice of CO2 welding process.

Prerequisites  : Ideal for candidates conversant with Arc Welding.
 Course content:

Familiarization with GMAW process, equipment and accessories, safety precautions, welding variables, different modes of metal transfer, selection of welding consumables, process related defects and remedies, applications and limitations.
